A DISE Collective Solution to The Crisis Facing Canadian Universities

Issues of inadequate funding, corporate interference, and increasingly unequal accessibility are currently plaguing Canadian universities. Dr. Caroline Hossein and Dr. Michelle Stack of the DISE Collective propose four changes to disrupt the status quo.

  1. Co-operative economies

  2. More student co-ops; less real estate investors.

  3. More equitable distribution of university funding.

  4. Honouring 2025 as the United Nation’s Year of Cooperatives
